I am an Integrated Nutritional Coach, Women’s Life Coach, have spoken at 50+ women events and are also trained in the “Next Gen: Training Active Girls for Health & Performance” created by Stacy Sims.

I have always been into health/fitness since a young age, I have two children that are both passionate about their sports and have had firsthand experience with kids in sport.

But 13+ years ago I realised there was a huge missing gap in the wellness/success world.

I realised that it doesn’t matter if you have the healthiest diet in the world, train like an athlete or are the most talented player in the room, if you do not have the right foundations set up in your life you will not be the best version of yourself and reach your highest potential.

And this also applies to young women and in particular young women in sport.

Up until very recently everything based on fitness, health and training…has been based on the research of men. Mainly due to the factor that the government only provided finding to go to that place.

But that has changed.

And for the first time ever we find ourselves at this moment in time where we have this knowledge that we have never had before, in particular about women/young girls and how they really work.

Mentally, physically and biologically.

As well as women suddenly given the same opportunities and receive the recognition when it comes to sport and fitness.

THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!!

And so there has never been a more important time for young women to know this information and help them reach their best potential both personally and in their sport.

A FEW THINGS TO TELL YOU ABOUT THESE TALKS FROM A COACH/CLUB PERSPECTIVE

Being a girl does not mean you receive any extra special treatment, that you train less or need to be wrapped in cotton wool. This is about having more awareness and utilising this new information so that you can actually train smarter and get better results across the entire team by working with your body mechanics (not against it) which is very much what these sessions are about.

This course will also not create a lot more work for clubs or coaches as we know they are already really busy. But what this course actually does is in fact give the girls more insight/ownership of themselves so they can implement these small important changes with their training and in their team environment.

Every talk in these series has been made within a 20-30 min time frame. Fast and potent information delivered so you can get the same impact but less interference with game time. Also allowing for time to implement the work into the team before receiving the next the phase the following week.

Quite often the smallest things they girls pick up on (the things that you think will make the least difference), end up making the most for them personally and within their team as a whole.

The sessions and what is covered is all set out below.

FOR THE COACHES

  • 40% of girls by the age of 15 quit sport, find out the reasons why and what you can do to help that not happen.

  • What is physically happening with girls between the ages of 10-17 that is different to boys. And how can you utilise these factors to your full advantage in training and on the pitch.

  • Mental and brain development differs between girls and boys. How and why this awareness can help with the above.

  • Suggestions you can implement to get a more happier, focused and successful team environment when setting out your training sessions.

  • Outline of what is going to be discussed with the girls in their talks.

FOR THE GIRLS AND THEIR TEAM

TALK ONE - INDIVIDUALITY AWARENESS: HOW THIS CAN HELP YOU MAKE AN UNBREAKABLE TEAM

  • “If you had a team of 17 strikers that spoke the same, ran the same, acted the same - you would have a pretty unsuccessful team” - here we show the girls the importance of how the individuality of their teammates is something that should be encouraged and embraced instead of looked upon as being “not like them” which can sometimes cause negativity with a team.

  • How working as a group off the field can be the difference between them and the other teams.

  • The “bad apple” analogy - explaining what this is, what it can do to a team and how to make sure it doesn’t enter yours.

  • Human mechanics - give them an insight/examples of what individuality actually is and how to see that differences are a good thing.

  • Getting to know your team mates special talents and using that to your advantage.

  • Things you can put in place to iron out exclusion of players, little formed groups and make the team a more solid entity as a whole.

TALK TWO – MINDSET: BUT IN A WAY YOU HAVEN’T SEEN BEFORE

  • We are often taught that the goal is to be “fearless” or “not let the nerves take control” - but what if that is not the case at all and you can use these things as an advantage on the field, not as a disadvantage.

  • Girls are often taught (more than anyone) that emotions such as anger, jealously or regret are bad things but what if they are in fact exceptional things if you know how to use them right. Here we explain how.

  • Everyone talks about “chasing happiness” but life is not linear. In fact 50% of the time you won’t be this. So knowing how to use the down times as well as the high can transfer the energy of a team.

TALK THREE – YOUR BODY AND HOW TO USE IT TO ITS MOST OPTIMAL

  • Women are not smaller men, the XX and XY chromosomes contain different biological differences. Here we talk about what they are and how that awareness help you train smarter.

  • There are times when girls will feel “off” at their game or get in their head with “why am I not performing like I normally do”. We talk about why that is, why it’s temporary and what they can do to get back to your normal confident self.

  • A girl’s menstrual cycle does not make them weaker or problematic but the knowledge of how to train during their cycle can make the girls feel more confident, safe and also perform better on the pitch.

  • Nutrition - the information out there can be overwhelming. We will provide some realistic tips/food of what girls can eat before, during and after games that will give them more energy and make them perform at their most optimum.

TALK WITH PARENTS

  • How some things “you think” you might be doing to help your child success in sport could actually be doing the opposite.

  • Why girls quit sport before 15 and some things we can implement as a parent to help that decrease.

  • Support you can provide and things you can implement in your homes and lives for your teenager during her week so that they are working at her most optimum in their sport. But also stay in the game.

  • Some key differences between boys and girls when it comes to training and how to support that.

The above is the full package however I am aware that clubs and different sports have their own unique circumstances .

So should you wish to only have some of the sessions (not all) please contact me to discuss.
